Private bus associations decided to call off the planned island-wide union action after a discussion with Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya today (08 January).

The union action was planned to protest alleged police overreach during traffic operations linked to the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ program.

According to the meeting held today at Police Headquarters, private bus associations decided to settle the matter through mutual understanding instead of union action.
